A Morning at Lake McBride: Fishing, Family, and a Surprise Catch

This past Monday, our family headed out to Lake McBride for a morning of fishing and fresh air. The weather was warm and sunny, and we were excited to soak up some time together on the dock. We packed our tackle box, rods, and plenty of our freeze-dried snacks to keep us fueled while we waited for a bite.

After a couple of hours in the summer heat without any luck, we decided it was time to pack up and head home. The fish just weren’t biting, and the sun was starting to get intense. But as we were gathering our gear, our daughter decided to pick up the fishing pole for one last cast — and wouldn’t you know it, that’s when a small but spirited largemouth bass took the bait! It was such a fun surprise and made for the perfect ending to the morning.

Moments like these are why we love getting outdoors together, sharing laughs, and making memories. And, of course, having our freeze-dried snacks along for the trip made it even better — they’re light, tasty, and perfect for any adventure.
